Chronicles of Narnia

Savannah and I had a fun little treat this afternoon. Immediately after church, her Brownie troop went to the Asheville Community Theater to volunteer as ushers and concession stand workers. It was so much fun. Here is a picture of Savannah and her fellow brownie handing out the playbills. Here is our small group.  Not a great picture because  I carried the smaller camera.  Oh well. Here is a picture of Savannah with Aslan. He was quite popular with all the children after the show. Here is Savannah posing behind the concession stand. After the show, we were surprised to learn that Savannah's primary teachers were Mr. & Mrs. Beaver.  Go Jevnes. You were awesome.  I wish we would have known it was you!

I Had a Top 10 Engagement Story

Check out  http://rosylittlethings.typepad.com/posie_gets_cozy/   This is Alicia Paulsen's super crafty blog of just about everything.  I love reading it to get cooking or decorating ideas or just to borrow her free patterns.   Anyways, about a week ago she shared her engagement story and had a contest for funniest engagement stories.  I commented with mine along with nearly 400 other women.  Go figure, mine was one of the top 10 funniest.  Go to the website and check out other funny stories.

What we did this weekend

This weekend, Larry took little Larry and Xander to the U.S.S. Yorktown in SC for a cubscout campout onboard the aircraft carrier.  Boy did they have fun. I have loads of pictures and video of the trip, but no stories to tell. I was at home with the remaining 3 kids with my own stories to tell. Just scroll down to the non military pictures. Here are Larry & Xander in the cockpit of a jet. Here is Xander driving a jeep.  Keep dreaming son. Little Larry is goofing off and Xander is looking sweet. Here is a little project I started on monday. Our LR pillows have been stained for years and spot cleaning is really out of the question. So I got a really good deal on this decorator fabric and decided to make removable covers. Not too bad for a novice seamstress.  I am slowly  learning how to sew more things each day. Here is my wonderful weekend. While packing for the boys on friday, here is what I found in their room. Now mind you, they did not leave their room like this. Everything was

50 questions.

1.Do you like Blue Cheese? Honestly, I have never had it.  But the thought of mold turns me off. 2. Have you ever smoked a cigarette?  NO 3. Do you own a gun?  NO 4. What flavor do you add to your drink at Sonic-  Cherry, yum. 5. Do you get nervous before a doctors appointment?  Yes. We've experienced a lot of bad news from doctors. 6. What do you think of hot dogs?  Love them.  That is my favorite food unfortunately.  Funny story, when Larry and I were dating, his mom asked him what I liked and he told her hotdogs.  For years when I visited, that is all she would make me. 7. What is your favorite Christmas song? Paul McCartney's "Wonderful Christmas Time", Josh Groban's "Believe" from the Polar Express, and for laughs Adam Sandler's Hanukkah   8. What do you like to drink in the mornings?  Dr. Pepper would be my ideal drink, but I drink water or hot chocolate.  Orange Juice if we have it. 9. Can you do push ups?  Yes.  I can actually do

Our Night Up

Because Savannah has been having so many seizures this past month,  her neuro has ordered all new tests and different doctor visits to try and pin point what is causing her seizures. Today is her day for a new EEG.  She had one done in August that came back clean, but has continued to have seizures.  So last night, Savannah and I stayed up  till 5AM.  We took a 2 hour nap and are up again to keep her sleep deprived for this study. Yay me! So here Savannah is playing a little monsters on the playstation 3.  Thanks Jason & Denzil. You have a bunch of addicts here. After a few hours of games, she moved on to her webkins. She had a lot of pets to feed and new games to try out. Here she is enjoying the cricut.  She played with this for a good 2 or 3 hours cutting out paper dolls. We love our cricut.  Thanks Larry Denzil for such a wonderful gift. Here is Savannah at 4AM trying to beat sonic the hedgehog. By 5AM, neither one of us could keep our eyes open so wee both slept till 7:30. Tha

Welcome to my World

It is never a dull moment in my life. While I was cleaning one room, this is what I found in the family room.  A very naked and happy little girl just jumping away.  I swear she had clothes on when she started.  She has a way of bringing a smile to your face because you honestly do not know what she is going to do next.

Another tiny home improvement project

Out of the 12 years that Larry & I have been married, we have made very few furniture purchases. Most everything we own has been given to us or we  purchased used at a great discount. Above is our entertainment center. The book case came from the old CPA firm Larry worked for in Ashland and the sewing table came from a dear friend. Lana, do you recognize it? My subwoofer acted as a precarious shelf for our expensive electronics. Here is my new entertainment table. I was able to put it together by myself in  3 and half hours.  Not bad for an afternoon project that took others 6 hours and  2 people.  Plus Larry is no good at wiring our electronics to the stereo.  I have always  taken care of everything. Wallah!  Our new DVD storage.  Bye Bye book case.   Doesn't this look so much better?  Not to mention more grown up.
