12 Wonderful Years

Saturday was mine and Larry's 12 year anniversary.  We enjoyed an absolute wonderful weekend together.  Larry was able to get off work friday at a decent time and did not have to go in on saturday.  And on Sunday, he did not have the early morning church meetings, so we were able to drive together.  As a matter of fact, we were able to enjoy a beautiful Christmas cantata on a gorgeous Sabbath morning.

Friday evening we enjoyed
Don't ask me how I talked Larry Denzil into this, but I did and I enjoyed every minute of it. This was such a happy, girlie movie and I truly did enjoy every moment of it.  I love musicals and especially love music of the 70's.  I could remember so many of the songs as if they were new.  Listening to them in my dad's '73 camaro as he picked me up from the day care. Wow, how time flies.

On saturday, I enjoyed breakfast that Larry prepared with the kids.  It was so nice to not have to cook.  Notice I did not say clean.  He did leave the mess for me, but the meal was delicious.

We were going to go out on a date saturday evening, but I decided I wanted to stay in so we ordered take out.  We got the kids a pizza and ordered ourselves some NC bar b q from a local eatery, Okie Dokies Smokehouse.

If you have not tried this place out, I urge you to do so.  The food was delicious and the servings were big.  Not to mention the very affordable price.  Larry and I both ordered separate meat plates and were able to make just over 2 meals each out of it.
For the evening, we watched Prince Caspian with the kids.  I have to say I was a little disappointed.  We had heard the movie was better than Chronicles of Narnia, but I have to disagree.  I liked the first so much more.
To top off my evening, I was surprised with a video proposal from my kids.  Many of you know the story.  Larry did not technically propose to me.  I was "fake" napping and he was practicing proposals next to me.  Who does that?  When I heard those magical words, I immediately woke up and it was out there.  The yes was never said and neither was the proposal, but both were implied.  All these years I have nagged how I did not get the proper proposal.  The grand romantic gesture. Well, 12 years later, my kids help their father with my moment.  I hope you all enjoy.

That was absolutely adorable! (The video!) Your kids are really all just so gorgeous, I guess that makes up a little on the lack of romantic inclination in my brother. Sorry about the first "proposal" but I think he makes up for it big time this anniversary!

Oh and I took Brian to Mama Mia in Boston and he loved it and even stood up for the standing ovation. We both laughed and sang along for the whole musical with the whole audience.

Uhm, after five years, it's about time you guys got married. Kidding. It was really cute. I'm impressed that big brother thought of such a good idea. Way to go Larry!
I went to a sing-a-long movie version of Mama Mia and loved it! It was so much fun. Your dates sound a lot like ours, take out and a video.
Congrats on 12 years!

Oh lawd. I just cried at that, it was so sweet! It's just amazing how different our lives turned out.

Had I known that Larry did not give my best friend a proper proposal, I would have fixed that in a heart beat!

wow! I'm impressed! 12 years has it really been that long? I think you wedding may have been one of the last times I saw your. I do remember a tale of Larry leaving wet towels on the new bed spread thought. Has that changed? I need the tip to change that! Congrats. Glad you finally got a proposal!

CONGRATULATIONS!! Kudos to
Larry for his incredible creative talent. Marsha, I believe you are the inspiration that makes my good brother an even greater husband and father. Once, in immature anger, I told him that he ever got married, his wife would divorce him. Shows how much I know--you guys sure proved me wrong! (This is one of those rare instances where I admit I'm wrong--enjoy it.)
