Zig Zaggin' to completion

On Sunday evening, I was able to finish my 6th
blanket for the year.  I know I say this about each
blanket I complete, but this has to be my favorite.
I am so in love with the soft pink and green colors.

Check out the zig zag pattern which is also the name of
the blanket.  Extremely simple with lots of double crochets
and chain ones throughout.
For the edging, I opted for something other than what the
pattern called for.  The pattern had tassels which
I am not particularly a fan of especially for a baby.

It will be difficult parting with this blanket.
Luckily, it is just too small for me.

You really have such wonderful patterns. Where do you find them all, and above and beyond that where do you find the time to finish these! Incredible!

I have 2 pattern books dedicated solely to baby afghans. One I have had for years. the other i just added to my library. Anyways, I am just now learning that you can mix these patterns and create many more beautiful blankets.
I have to keep my hands busy and I have found this to be a wonderful stress releaser for me. I love making blankets via quilting, crocheting and knitting. Some love to read, I love to create.

Apple Festival

OK,  I was too excited to wait on this new post.  We went to the Hendersonville Apple Festival this afternoon.  We have lived here 2 years and this was our first time going.  It was fun.  People had their crafts for sale and of course, lots of apples.  Anyways, center stage, a band was performing old rock n roll music.  We stopped to take a break and enjoy ice cream.  While sitting there, a square dancer asked Larry Denzil to be her partner in the square dancing routine.  Talk about a laugh, I hope you guys enjoy the pictures.  Did I forget to mention that the Hurts were in for a visit? Ok, here is Larry Denzil having a great time square dancing. I think he has found his true calling. Here is little Larry relaxing during the bands gig. Here is Larry Denzil and the little old lady who asked him to be her partner.  Poor thing, I do not think she read the back of his shirt.  He had the number  7 and at the top it said Baby Maker.  This was his work soft ball shirt. He is actually enjoying...
