Trip to Olive Hill

Alright, so last week, we got to go to Ashland, KY.  While we were there, we made it a point to visit family out in Olive Hill.  We did not get to see everyone we wanted to, but we did get to see a few.

Paula will kill me, but here is Uncle Elwood and
Paula.  She had been up late the night before
making Thanksgiving Day deserts.
Deanne wanted pictures of her siblings and
their better halfs.

Here is Ethan hanging out on the stairs.

Here is Uncle Elwood with a mess of children.
Isn't their house just beautiful?  It is a log cabin
with such a rustic, lived in appeal.

I am not sure what Elwood has done, but Ruby
was not happy with him.

Thankfully Ruby's anger is quite short lived.
Here she is enjoying Elwood's company.

Here is Ruby with Aunt Frances and Uncle Ursel.
Ruby was almost named after Frances.  Ruby
was named after Frances' mother
instead.

Here is Ruby enjoying good company.
Ethan just wanted to be in the
snap shot.

Ruby went straight for Uncle Ursel.  She has never
seen him before in her life, but she acted as though
he was her best friend.  What happened to the stranger
anxiety?

My 2 girls.

Alright Deanne.  Here is the picture you wanted.
Frances was really angry with you that you
wanted them to hold hands!  Larry Denzil can
get people to do anything.

Apple Festival

OK,  I was too excited to wait on this new post.  We went to the Hendersonville Apple Festival this afternoon.  We have lived here 2 years and this was our first time going.  It was fun.  People had their crafts for sale and of course, lots of apples.  Anyways, center stage, a band was performing old rock n roll music.  We stopped to take a break and enjoy ice cream.  While sitting there, a square dancer asked Larry Denzil to be her partner in the square dancing routine.  Talk about a laugh, I hope you guys enjoy the pictures.  Did I forget to mention that the Hurts were in for a visit? Ok, here is Larry Denzil having a great time square dancing. I think he has found his true calling. Here is little Larry relaxing during the bands gig. Here is Larry Denzil and the little old lady who asked him to be her partner.  Poor thing, I do not think she read the back of his shirt.  He had the number  7 and at the top it said Baby Maker.  This was his work soft ball shirt. He is actually enjoying...

What on Earth!? How can you not stop and smile?

This morning I woke up and felt really good and energized. I was just ready to start the day. I had a little fun on the wii fit at 5:30Am before waking the kids.   A Valentine's gift from a dear husband.  I love video games and well, you might as well exercise while playing. Afterwards, I started with my chores.  Just trying to tackle  one room at a time.  The first room I cleaned was the children's living room.  Why did I choose this room? I knew Ethan & Ruby would play and watch TV, but I had no idea they would do this!? Here is a darling Ruby Isabella exhausted and asleep after her mayhem and destruction. Yes, that is toilet paper all over the floor. An entire roll they managed to toss all over the living room. They also got a hold of the baby bath and made some bubbles in  the boys bedroom, and got a hold of the lotion and squirted it all over  the footboard on my bed.  Where am I during all this? Feeling really good because I had washed, dried, and folded 4 loads of la...

Scary Moment

Last night we had a bit of a scare in our house.  I was making dinner for the missionaries.  No my dinner was not scary!  I was making a pre-holiday meal, ham and the whole nine yards.  I had purchased fresh cranberries to make cranberry sauce.  Larry and I do not like cranberries but all of my kids do.  Ruby was anxiously waiting to eat and was dancing around in our small busy kitchen trying to help me.  To scoot her along, I gave her a fresh cranberry to nibble on. Less than 5 minutes later she began crying.  Larry had just gotten home so I thought she just wanted him to pick her up.  He did and she kept crying and holding her mouth.  He thought maybe she was teething, but those pesky 2 year molars came early.  I was stressed making the meal, I did not have time for tears.  But Larry would not stop crying about Ruby.  Just kidding. He was freaking out and her crying was uncontrollable so I checked on her.  Her lower lip had completely swollen up.  This was our first experience with a...
