The Biltmore Estate With Some Dear Friends

After 3 years of living in the area, we finally visited the
Biltmore Estate.  It is hard to believe something so
beautiful and vast is less than 20 minutes away
from our humble home.
Ruby enjoying a lift from dad to see the estate.

Here she is enjoying her freedom.
Look at my Larrys.

Here are the Dietrich's.  Larry and Tony roomed
together in college. And Tony & Vickie
 attended our wedding
way back in 1996.  We have kept in touch all
these years, but have done a poor job
at visiting one another I suppose.
Kids can hinder traveling and
group get togethers.

A side view of the house near the gardens.

I was trying to get a snap shot of the
gargoyles.  The boys fell in
love with them.

Here is our happy family.

Ethan enjoying the fountains.

My three sons.

By this point, Ruby is wanting her freedom.
Only candid shots please.

My little girls.

Something about trees and boys.
This estate had a lot of climbing worthy trees.

Look at all the Tulips.
They were gorgeous.
Still not as pretty as the ones on Temple Square
that we got to see back in 2003 at Mary's wedding.
Thank you Mary for the invite.

I love this shot Larry got of Ruby.

Here is Vickie and Tony and their youngest,
Anna.

Don't mind Xander.  He had to pee really
bad and was holding himself all
over the garden.  Ethan was too,
but Ruby was shielding him.
I am just thankful they did not
decide to pee in the gardens.
Whew!

This is so Savannah.  Some how, I am raising a southern belle.
I should have named her Scarlett.
Here is a good shot.  Ruby was picking pretty purple flowers
for me and Larry.  I am sure it is against the rules,
but tell that to a 2 year old.

I love my little Ruby.

Alright, so after a long day at the
Biltmore, we took the kids to the fanciest
McDonald's in the world.
This McDonald's boasts a grand piano,
a fireplace, tapestries on the wall, and well
dressed employees.

I am so jealous. I saw the Biltmore on a PBS show on mansions in America and I've always wanted to go. How much fun!! And so beautiful. Looks like you guys had lots of fun.
Wow!!! Thanks for posting pics of the Dietrich clan!!! Those kids look so big! I suppose I've seen yours on your blog - they don't see so foreign to me as their kids do! I need to go see them soon. Looks like a fun time!

Apple Festival

OK,  I was too excited to wait on this new post.  We went to the Hendersonville Apple Festival this afternoon.  We have lived here 2 years and this was our first time going.  It was fun.  People had their crafts for sale and of course, lots of apples.  Anyways, center stage, a band was performing old rock n roll music.  We stopped to take a break and enjoy ice cream.  While sitting there, a square dancer asked Larry Denzil to be her partner in the square dancing routine.  Talk about a laugh, I hope you guys enjoy the pictures.  Did I forget to mention that the Hurts were in for a visit? Ok, here is Larry Denzil having a great time square dancing. I think he has found his true calling. Here is little Larry relaxing during the bands gig. Here is Larry Denzil and the little old lady who asked him to be her partner.  Poor thing, I do not think she read the back of his shirt.  He had the number  7 and at the top it said Baby Maker.  This was his work soft ball shirt. He is actually enjoying...

What on Earth!? How can you not stop and smile?

This morning I woke up and felt really good and energized. I was just ready to start the day. I had a little fun on the wii fit at 5:30Am before waking the kids.   A Valentine's gift from a dear husband.  I love video games and well, you might as well exercise while playing. Afterwards, I started with my chores.  Just trying to tackle  one room at a time.  The first room I cleaned was the children's living room.  Why did I choose this room? I knew Ethan & Ruby would play and watch TV, but I had no idea they would do this!? Here is a darling Ruby Isabella exhausted and asleep after her mayhem and destruction. Yes, that is toilet paper all over the floor. An entire roll they managed to toss all over the living room. They also got a hold of the baby bath and made some bubbles in  the boys bedroom, and got a hold of the lotion and squirted it all over  the footboard on my bed.  Where am I during all this? Feeling really good because I had washed, dried, and folded 4 loads of la...

Scary Moment

Last night we had a bit of a scare in our house.  I was making dinner for the missionaries.  No my dinner was not scary!  I was making a pre-holiday meal, ham and the whole nine yards.  I had purchased fresh cranberries to make cranberry sauce.  Larry and I do not like cranberries but all of my kids do.  Ruby was anxiously waiting to eat and was dancing around in our small busy kitchen trying to help me.  To scoot her along, I gave her a fresh cranberry to nibble on. Less than 5 minutes later she began crying.  Larry had just gotten home so I thought she just wanted him to pick her up.  He did and she kept crying and holding her mouth.  He thought maybe she was teething, but those pesky 2 year molars came early.  I was stressed making the meal, I did not have time for tears.  But Larry would not stop crying about Ruby.  Just kidding. He was freaking out and her crying was uncontrollable so I checked on her.  Her lower lip had completely swollen up.  This was our first experience with a...
