Date Night

So, Saturday evening, Larry and I were able to go
on a much needed date.
Dates become rare when you have 5 kids
and live far from family.
Thank goodness for a wonderful
young woman who lives near by.

We started our date out with a movie that
Larry has been dying to see.
I am not a trek fan, but I can say this movie
was actually enjoyable.
And it actually had a humorous start.
When Larry and I went to the theater to purchase
our tickets, we noticed a balding, middle aged man
wearing a star trek uniform in the lobby.  At first we thought he was just
a theater worker wearing their uniform for the weekend.
When we noticed the ticket booth kids
not wearing the same snazzy outfit and giggling, we realized a serious trek
fan was in our midst.
This man was dressed to the hilt and had a
presentation board set up along
with life size cutouts of
Kirk and Spok. Can we say Coo coo?
I so wish I had a camera phone.

After the movie, Larry & I drove around looking for a
restaurant with little to no wait.
Not a bad thing unless it is saturday night
at 6 and a prom night to boot.
We decided to go to Fuddruckers,
a known favorite when we came across Tripp's.
I am so glad we stopped!
We were sitted immediately and the
manager was actually making rounds greeting
his patrons.  Very welcoming atmosphere
and it passed my no TVs test.
Larry and I were able to have a wonderful
dinner with no distractions.

Can I just say, the food was absolutely fabulous!
I don't usually eat steaks, but opted for the filet mignon
and lobster tail.  It was delicious and this
restaurant has become a new favorite.

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend as well.

Lobster and steak? I can see why that would be an immediate favorite!

Apple Festival

OK,  I was too excited to wait on this new post.  We went to the Hendersonville Apple Festival this afternoon.  We have lived here 2 years and this was our first time going.  It was fun.  People had their crafts for sale and of course, lots of apples.  Anyways, center stage, a band was performing old rock n roll music.  We stopped to take a break and enjoy ice cream.  While sitting there, a square dancer asked Larry Denzil to be her partner in the square dancing routine.  Talk about a laugh, I hope you guys enjoy the pictures.  Did I forget to mention that the Hurts were in for a visit? Ok, here is Larry Denzil having a great time square dancing. I think he has found his true calling. Here is little Larry relaxing during the bands gig. Here is Larry Denzil and the little old lady who asked him to be her partner.  Poor thing, I do not think she read the back of his shirt.  He had the number  7 and at the top it said Baby Maker.  This was his work soft ball shirt. He is actually enjoying...

What on Earth!? How can you not stop and smile?

This morning I woke up and felt really good and energized. I was just ready to start the day. I had a little fun on the wii fit at 5:30Am before waking the kids.   A Valentine's gift from a dear husband.  I love video games and well, you might as well exercise while playing. Afterwards, I started with my chores.  Just trying to tackle  one room at a time.  The first room I cleaned was the children's living room.  Why did I choose this room? I knew Ethan & Ruby would play and watch TV, but I had no idea they would do this!? Here is a darling Ruby Isabella exhausted and asleep after her mayhem and destruction. Yes, that is toilet paper all over the floor. An entire roll they managed to toss all over the living room. They also got a hold of the baby bath and made some bubbles in  the boys bedroom, and got a hold of the lotion and squirted it all over  the footboard on my bed.  Where am I during all this? Feeling really good because I had washed, dried, and folded 4 loads of la...

Scary Moment

Last night we had a bit of a scare in our house.  I was making dinner for the missionaries.  No my dinner was not scary!  I was making a pre-holiday meal, ham and the whole nine yards.  I had purchased fresh cranberries to make cranberry sauce.  Larry and I do not like cranberries but all of my kids do.  Ruby was anxiously waiting to eat and was dancing around in our small busy kitchen trying to help me.  To scoot her along, I gave her a fresh cranberry to nibble on. Less than 5 minutes later she began crying.  Larry had just gotten home so I thought she just wanted him to pick her up.  He did and she kept crying and holding her mouth.  He thought maybe she was teething, but those pesky 2 year molars came early.  I was stressed making the meal, I did not have time for tears.  But Larry would not stop crying about Ruby.  Just kidding. He was freaking out and her crying was uncontrollable so I checked on her.  Her lower lip had completely swollen up.  This was our first experience with a...
